With the Downline Builder Plugin, you can follow up with your system users’ leads on their behalf and automatically code their affiliate links in your emails.
How It Works
💡 Note: This is a principle-based guide. I’m showing you how I would implement this, but you can adapt and use it however works best for your needs.
Step 1: Understanding the DBP Custom Link Auto Redirect Feature
The DBP Custom Link block/shortcode/module includes a powerful option called “Auto Redirect”.
Example Setup: Promoting Downline Builder Plugin
- Add Downline Builder Plugin as an Affiliate Program to your DBP powered site
- Create a blank page for your redirect
- Add the DBP Custom Link module to the page
- Select your program (Downline Builder Plugin in this example)
- Enable the Auto Redirect toggle switch (or configure it via shortcode/module)
✅ Result: When visitors access this page, they’ll automatically redirect to either the default URL configured in the Affiliate Program or your custom configured URL.
Step 2: How the Auto Redirect Works with Affiliate IDs
The auto redirect will contain the affiliate ID of the user whose ID is specified in the URL.

Step 3: The Magic – Automatic Lead Attribution
🔑 Here’s the key insight:
When a lead is stored in your DBP powered site, we save the referrer’s username along with it. This also happens when leads are added to your autoresponder services like:
- Aweber
- GetResponse
- Systeme.io
- And others
Step 4: Implementing in Your Email Campaigns
You can use merge tags (or whatever your autoresponder service calls them) in your emails to automatically append the lead’s referring username to ANY URL you email them.
Practical Implementation Example
